A Family Legacy in the
Heart of the Ozarks
Nestled in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, Silver Run Cabins has long been where families, adventurers, and nature lovers reconnect with the outdoors. For decades, guests have found comfort in these rustic yet charming cabins, surrounded by towering trees and just miles from the Buffalo National River. Now, with new hands at the helm, the tradition of hospitality and outdoor adventure continues.
It all started...
with a love for the Ozarks that spanned generations.
Leanna and Eric have been longtime guests of Silver Run Cabins, drawn to its natural beauty and rooted history. Leanna’s parents started the tradition of paddling down the Buffalo River and exploring the mountains when she was just a teenager. Eric married into the tradition 10 years ago, and together, they’ve passed that love down to their two children.

The Hughes Family
When the opportunity arose to take over Silver Run Cabins, it felt like fate. Now, as the new owners, they are honored to carry forward the legacy while bringing fresh energy and ideas to enhance the guest experience.
—it’s a piece of history.
Silver Run Cabins isn’t just a place
Before it became the beloved retreat it is today, this land played a key role in the region’s mining and river travel. The name ‘Silver Run’ itself is a tribute to the area's mining past, once home to the Silver Run Mine, operated by Doc Dillard. His family later helped shape the area’s development, running the Hwy 14 Ferry before the bridge was built.
That same appreciation for the land’s history and beauty inspired Byron and Belenda Shipman to build Silver Run Cabins in 1992. As a craftsman, Byron carefully designed the cabins to blend seamlessly with their surroundings, while Belenda added the special touches that made each cabin feel like home. Together, they built more than just a place to stay—they created a retreat where families and adventurers could experience the magic of the Ozarks.
